Spirituality Commission



(Church & Legislation)


  • to increase support services to the church and to the world through discipleship and spiritual growth
  • to grow through spirituality lessons facilitated at meetings so that we may come to have an even more relentless, all powerful, ever-increasing faith and love for the Lord
  •  to encourage legislative advocacy at the local, state, and national levels, guided by Catholic social teaching


  • to create a community that is educated and dynamic
  • to call Catholic women to discipleship and holiness
  • to respond with personal witness and service to the Church and to the world


  • serve as a conduit for helping councils focus on the spiritual aspects of our faith
  • attend daily Mass and pray the Liturgy of the Hours, the official prayer of the church
  • promote Eucharistic Adoration
  • pray favorite devotionals
  • provide support materials 
  • provide information and materials from the United States Bishop’s on social justice issues that are primary to our Catholic faith
  • work to reinforce our faith 
  • assist in meaningful ecumenical dialogue
  • share Days of Reflection and other events with council women of other parishes and deaneries
  • be committed to finding solutions to vexing national and international issues such as structural poverty, domestic violence, health care, human rights, and religious freedom
  • serve the parish/council for Liturgical Celebrations, religious education, vocation promotion, special seasonal celebrations (Lent, Marian feasts), sacramental preparation / celebrations, hospitality, alter care, grief ministry, etc.
  • attend meetings and programs


  • participate in voter registration, issue education programs (speakers/workshops), community advocacy for schools, parks, public services, letter writing campaigns, state legislative days, etc.
